Featured CoachAlex Tamargo:

Teacher and Coach Alex Tamargo always finds time to aid a struggling student, especially those who are highly prone to confusion.
Alex Tamargo has been praised as an excellent teacher and coach. Within two years here at MSSH Tamargo has accomplished much. Many know him as both a baseball coach and a loveable English teacher. Tamargo currently teaches 10th, 11th and 12th grade students at varying levels of intensity. This feat is not as easy as it sounds and would appear to be much more difficult than coaching a baseball team. Though seemingly put together, Tamargo finds balancing a team and enlightening students is sometimes difficult. He explains these anxieties especially with the thought of incorporating FCAT into his lessons. Not one to walk away from a challenge, Tamargo has managed to build a winning combination in both his English classes and the Golden Hawks baseball team. His enthusiasm for both endeavors is what makes students enjoy being in his classes and gives players the desire to win and play for him. “I am a very lucky person because I can honestly say that I look forward to coming to work even on Mondays to educate youngsters and develop baseball players,” said Tamargo. This attitude is behind his ability to encourage his students to work harder and his players to give their all for the team. Junior Stephanie Arzeno says, “He is funny. In class there hasn’t been a time that we haven’t laughed with him. He makes learning fun.” As for the baseball season this year he thinks that they are going to do great. He thinks that the team has matured and now has the experience needed to win every game possible. We would like to thank teacher and coach Tamargo for his contributions to the world of athletics and that of academics. May we be lucky enough to have his talents available to us for years to come.

This is a photo I took in CT after a winter storm had passed through. It is a little depressing for me just because I usually associate the beach with summer and relaxation.

My cousin Heidi let me take her photo. I have been working hard lately in capturing expressive eyes in photographs. i think this one came out well.

Another portrait that I shot looking for expressive eyes. Dave was a good sport even though he didn’t know I was taking the photo. Actually, I think he did know because we were setting up for a photo shoot later in the morning. i think it was just to early for him to object.

Sometimes pretty things can just be bait for a treacherous situation.

A belly dancer from St. Augustine, FL. It seems like everyone is catching dance fever. This was at a state park for earth day. Expressive, she really enjoyed what she was doing.

Gabe is a interesting fellow and a great boxer. He is now serving in the Coast Guard. I thought this photo was cool just because of the vintage feel and Gabe’s great expression.

So, I went out to shoot for a Intermediate Photojournalism class I was taking. I ended up at a local skate park close to where I live. i took several hundred shots as I hung out with the guys. They didn’t disappoint. As a thank you, I went and had some of the prints blown up to mall advertising size. It is an understatement to say that they were impressed. It really made my day too.

So, after i took Joel’s photo, the twin brother also wanted in on the action. I took him outdoors and we shot a few frames. I liked how this one came out and did some edits in photoshop.

Today Room Service captures two of the Mondrian South Beach hotel’s coolest features: a floating stairwell and a giant image of a doe-eyed doll in the lobby. Marcel Wanders is the the genius behind the design of this uber chic hotel that meshes art and functionality so beautifully. I love traveling and I tend to be one of those people who misses their bed when staying at a hotel, but the Mondrian South Beach isn’t one of those spots. I just feel so right at home here. It’s not pretentious or overly glam. In fact, while it’s absolutely gorgeous in design, there is something very welcoming and cozy about it. So what do you think of my outfit? I was trying to go for a fun resort wear look with fringe to mix with this amazing snakeprint skirt.

Miami Beach, FL – February 28, 2012 – The Vizcayans, along with Champagne Lanson, hosted the Fourth Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Lanson Champagne is a Champagne house originally founded in 1760 and located in Reims. Champagne Lanson served its premier Special Edition Rose Brut in the signature pink bottle. Fondly referred to as the “hat luncheon”, this year’s event emulated the traditional chic daytime events that were customarily held in the formal Italianate gardens during Vizcaya’s early years as a public museum. Women dressed elegantly; seas of glamorous and fanciful hats and gentlemen were welcomed to attend in sub-tropical dapper dress including hats.

Two Miami Guys' Breast Cancer Tee
I just got this Breast Cancer Awareness tee in the mail from Brand One Three. It’s a new Tshirt company launched by two Miami brothers, Alex Tamargo, 33, and Dax Tamargo, 20. The tee retails for $20 and is available at www.brandonethree.com. A percentage of proceeds from the shirt is being donated to Susan G.Komen. I was pretty impressed with the fit and quality of the tee for being so affordable. I’d compare it to a James Perse quality if you gotta know and those are the best. Plus, there’s a limited quality so you don’t have to worry about everyone in Miami donning the same top. So get to shopping for a good cause.
